The advantage of the DIY Pool Fence pole

A DIY pole consists of three sections for ultimate strength and resilience.

Most poles are made solely of aluminum. Aluminum piping is attractive but when used alone has minimal amounts of strength and is open to bending or breaking. Aluminum is not meant to be resilient, once it is bent it stays in the final position.

DIY’s solution is to put PVC piping on the inside of the aluminum pole. PVC piping continues to be the backbone of the plumbing industry because of its durability and flexibility. In most situations, when PVC is bent it returns to the original shape forcing the aluminum pole to follow suit.

Aluminum piping also has a low level of strength, especially at the thin layers for poles the size needed for pool fences. DIY addresses this concern in two ways.

First is with the PVC piping. The PVC piping combined with the aluminum only leaves an internal hollow point of .5” diameter, most other poles have a internal hollow point about .75” – 1” in diameter.

Second, DIY has a ½” diameter stainless steel pole that runs from inside the base of the pole into the pool deck 4”. Utilizing stainless steal at the base point adds considerable strength to the structure of the pole. When a pole is hit the most pressure will be placed on the point where the pole meets concrete. The smaller shaft has a dual purpose. It also allows for the outer edge of pole itself to cover the remnants of the hole, thereby making a seamless connection with the pool deck.

DIY poles are so strong a man weighing 180 lbs can hang from it. This feat is hard to match among the competition. Put it to the test, we are confident you will never need another fencing system for your pool.
